What we do
QFMA is responsible before the Council of Ministers of enforcing the law and regulation. In connection with its mandate, QFMA roles & responsibilities include:
- Issuing relevant rules and regulations.
- Ensuring the market integrity & transparence by conducting proper market surveillance, detecting market abuse and misconduct or suspicious transactions, and take the appropriate actions in accordance with the law.
- Licensing firms to conduct relevant regulated activities
- Authorizing individuals to engage in relevant controlled functions
- Admission to listing of relevant securities in the Doha Securities Markets
- Conducting investigation, on spot inspection whenever needed, and take on spot actions whenever necessary
- Monitoring and supervising market's participants with respect to their compliance with relevant laws and regulations including:
- Issuer through the regulatory disclosure & Corporate Governance requirements, and reviews of major relevant financial & capital restructuring transactions.
- The Exchange & CSDR activities through Inspection, regulatory reporting & disclosure requirements.
